Where did August Go?

I know we had an August this year, but it seems to me that it went by so quickly I hardly noticed, except for the birth of another GGD.  That makes 6 GG Children.
I am a lucky woman, but oh my... must be getting old.

A good part of August was getting my work ready for Art in the Park, here in my little home town of Petaluma, CA.  This is the 56th year for this event and gives we artists a chance to show our work to a large audience, speak to them about our work and see old friends.  It always a fun weekend, but can be exhausting.

It's been 6 years since I've done this event and have lots of work to show.  Works that have just been sitting down in my studio and garage.  To make it easier I took all the watercolors I had in frames, out of the frames and put them into clear view envelopes to put into bins for people to go through.  Makes it much easier than dealing with frames and glass and I can sell them cheaper that way also.  I had to mat many of the raw watercolors and that took me two weeks, working about 4 to 5 hours a day.  I ended up with 87 matted watercolors of various sizes, all neatly matted and in protected envelopes.

Then I had to varnish oil and acrylics on canvas, ended up with 21 of those.  These will be hung on panels for display.  Also had a box of small oil paintings 8 x 10 and 9 x 12 that I had all ready from a show I did of small works.  There are 12 of those.

And just in case people can't afford the originals, I made prints of many of my watercolors and colored pencils and matted them and put them in protective envelopes.
30+ of those.  And just for my bread and butter sales, there are 100 note cards.

Well that's what happened to August, the last week I rested up and went over my check list to make sure everything is done....but wait!  What if someone wants to use a credit card.  Went on line and found a neat little item that I can attach to my I-pad that processes credit card sales.  How nice is that.   I think I'm ready.
