Old Stone Pump House

The last day of summer and I wanted to paint outside. I decided to do a small acrylic. (my first mistake). It was the first time I had tried acrylics outdoors. What a nightmare. After I got set up(this took a while) in the sun, (second mistake) I started to paint. Mixed a dark and sketched my composition. Each time I went back to my mix to reload my brush, the paint was dry and I had to mix it again. Anyway, after much struggle with mixing paint and having it dry on me before I could use it, I'd had enough and packed up my stuff and left.
I had enough on the canvas and finished it up in the studio the next day.
Lesson: 1. Only use acrylics indoors.
2. Only use acrylics on a overcast damp day.
3. Next time use watercolors.
